I found this site and it is great. It's fictionconnection.com

You type in books you like or character types (mafia, drug addict, etc) or a favorite author, and it makes suggestion for you. In some of the suggestions you can read a page or too, to see if you like the writing style.

It's subscription only, but your library may pay for access to its card holders. Mine does. You have to access it from their site,and put in your library card numbers.

Anyway, it is awesome! I have found like 30 books so far this way. Right on the fictionconnection site is a link to seaarch my library's catalog for the book, then I can request it be sent to my local branch for me.

My library subscribes to lots of other stuff like this too. Encyclopedias, geneology, online tutoring. Lots of pay sites. And all you need is a library card and it is free.

Do your libraries offer it or anything like it? If you don't know you should check their website. It is so cool!
