Re: Do you put out hummingbird feeders?
WE do not have a hummingbird feeder yet. However Peter always talks about how he would love one. So once we get set up we will have one.

Re: Do you put out hummingbird feeders?
I loved putting hummingbird feeders out when we lived in TN. I would have several birds and would have to change the food every few days. They would show up in March, and stay until the middle of November. I loved it! One year I had around 10... my mil has had at least 70 at one time (she would put up 6 or more feeders!)
Up here I have no where to put one at home, but I did notice a hummingbird around my office window twice this summer. I'm considering buying a hook and a feeder for outside my office next summer.

Re: Do you put out hummingbird feeders?
I don't, but Granny used to alll the time. Now she gets the butterfly bushes and different plants in the yard that attract them so she doesn't have to refill the feeders all the time. I just go to her house and watch them .

Re: Do you put out hummingbird feeders?
I don't because there's not really anywhere to put one here at my apartment. But my grandma used to, right outside her kitchen window at the sink.

Re: Do you put out hummingbird feeders?
I do! I grew up always having them out. My parents have a very active hummingbird community in a large tree in their neighbor's yard that they feed. Since the weather there is so mild the hummers stay year-round.
Here the hummers leave for the winter. I always know when they've come back, though, because one day I will see one fly up to the sun room window and look in. Then I know it's time to break out the feeder again.

Re: Do you put out hummingbird feeders?
Here I don't really need to. We have birds of paradise growing around the house and that seems to attract them. In Lemoore, I had some flowers in pots that attracted one, so I put out a feeder for her. She made a nest in my windchimes 2 years in a row. 5 babies were born in that nest. It was pretty cool.

Re: Do you put out hummingbird feeders?
Occassionally, I'd have one or two around... so I decided to start planting flowers and hang a feeder to attract and to keep the hummers.
Now, I have about 5-10 coming through.
